English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
