The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Selected the Wrong Critical Role Track

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series by the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting opening credits. It features our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple heart-wrenching personal histories for characters including the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks stunning. However, I felt that something was lost in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song composed by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will love its presence.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro fails to capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the second campaign's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it improved further when co-founder the performer wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was memorable and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my phone. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, the creators has already said that the series will have some surprises and differences from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to learn about the personas of the second series, the original episodes are available on Spotify and the video site.
