Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
