Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the team after the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
