The Princess of Wales is hosting her yearly festive musical service at the iconic London venue, with a congregation comprising royals, celebrities and local heroes who have helped their communities.

The sizable congregation will listen to a selection of festive songs, musical performances, and spoken word pieces from actors such as award-winning actors.

Focusing on Love and Generosity

The central message of the concert, held in the atmospheric historic church on the afternoon, is kindness and showing love to others.

Attending the event are Anna and Jonathan Cordiner, whose child passed away from a brain tumour, and who founded an organisation, Kayleigh's Wee Stars, to help households where there is a youngster facing a life-limiting condition.

"Your efforts, love, and understanding, often without fanfare or recognition, and without any hope for reward or acknowledgement, make an profound impact to the lives of others," wrote Catherine in a letter ahead of the festive gathering.

A Steady Comeback

The princess has been making her own measured re-emergence to official duties following her health challenges and treatment, recently giving her initial major address in two years, in which she discussed recognising the "discreet, frequently unseen labour of caregivers".

Music and Opportunity

Attendees entering the Abbey will be entertained by young musicians aided by the Future Talent charity, set up with the help of the late Duchess of Kent to increase availability of instrumental training.

An 18-year-old named Carys Wood, who plays the trumpet and is from Wales, has been helped by the organisation, with awards contributing to equipment, teaching, and travel fees - and she said it was "awesome" to be playing at the evening's event.

"Music can be very expensive," she stated. She is now enrolled at the prestigious music academy, and added that "all people deserve the chance" to hone their artistic talents.

A Family Affair

Carys's 11-year-old sister, Eliza, who is a euphonium player, will likewise attend the Abbey. "It's unbelievable that I get to perform here in front of so many distinguished guests," she said.

Among the guests will be representatives of different generations.

That will encompass young Saphia Turner, nine, recipient of a youth community award, who sells artwork and carries out sponsored challenges to raise money for local food charities.

Seasonal Ambiance and Entertainment

The Abbey has been decorated with custom-created holiday decorations, with TV cook Mary Berry and florist Simon Lycett helping to make them.

The musical lineup includes Katie Melua, the Abbey's own choir and a nautical singing ensemble, the Fisherman's Friends, who said the chance to take part was "the icing on the cake for us."

The Together at Christmas carol concert will be televised and shown on television on December 24th.
